       Steve Winder
       European Applications Engineer, Supertex Inc.

Practical design guide to both analog and digital electronic filters
         Electronic simulation tools provided
Mathematics are kept to a minimum
The original classic title filter Design has been completely revised and updated to include information on both digital and analog
Mer design. A substantial update of the introductory chapters better enables the reader to follow the design process.
Unlike most books on filters, Analog and Digid filter Design does not start from a position of mathematical complexity. It is
mitten to show readers how to design effective and working electronic filters. The background information and equations from
tha first edition have been moved into an appendix to allow easier flow of the text while still providing the information for those
       who are interested.
     '
The oddtion of questions at the end of each chapter as well as electronic simulation tools has allowed for a more practical,
user-friendly text. There are also five DOS programs on the website associated with this book including Active and Passive Filter
Design Programs and a program that designs Passive Diplexer Filters.

Steve wider is now the European Applications Engineer for Supertex Inc. Steve works alongside design engineers throughout
Europe to design circuits using components made by Supertex, a US.-based manufacturer of high-voltage MOSFETs, CMOS
integrated circuits, and ASICs. Steve specializes in desig ning circuits for telecommunications applications, but has experience in a
       number of fields.
Prior to joining Supertex, Steve was for many years a team leader for a roup of analog and digital design engineers at British
Telecom's research and development laboratories, now known as Adastra B Park and based near lpswich in the United Kingdom.

Here, Steve applied his analytical skills to many technical areas but specialized in wideband analog and digital transmission
systems using copper pairs and optical fibre. In this role, Steve's strength was in radio frequency design, low-power design, low-
       noise design, and systems engineering.
