but passes to basin strata within a short distance. It thus appears to form a ramp
built out from blocks in northern and western Ireland.
Waul sort ian mounds also developed within basins. In Britain (Yorkshire and
Derbyshire), the Waulsortian is developed in large or elliptical to circular mounds
within the trough which existed between the Pennines and St. George's Land.
