addition, in protected Kossen shale basins of Rhaetic age, large bioherms exist
which are capped by reefoid organisms and surrounded by shale. These developed
considerable sea-floor relief late in their growth. The Rotelwand and Adnet car-
bonate buildups may have been more than a 100 m high.
