Benjamin Cole received his PhD in International Relations from Southampton
University in 1998. He is co-author of the New Face of Terrorism, with
Nadine Gurr.
Michael Dillon is a Senior Lecturer in Modern Chinese History and was found-
ing Director of the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies at the University
of Durham. His publications include China’s Muslims; China’s Muslim Hui
Community: Migrations, Settlements and Sects; Xinjiang: China’s Muslim Far
Northwest; Religious Minorities in China and China: a Historical and Cultural
Dictionary.
Toby Miller is Professor of Cultural Studies and Cultural Policy in the Center for
Latin American and Caribbean Studies, the Program in American Studies, and
the Department of Cinema Studies at New York University. He is the author
and editor of twenty-one books.
Prasun Sonwalkar is an Indian journalist currently teaching media studies at the
School of Cultural Studies, University of the West of England and is also a
Press Fellow of Wolfson College, Cambridge and a Commonwealth Scholar.
Jonathan Woodier is the Director of Regional and Corporate Affairs, Citibank
Asia Pacific, and has written extensively on the media in Southeast Asia.
