Locate at least three blogs on the Internet and write about a paragraph
on each of them. Describe their content, their intended audience, and
their style of writing. Based on your experience, write a few para-
graphs that discuss your opinion on blogs as journalism. Here are a
few questions to inspire your writing: Can an amateur blog be a legit-
imate reporter of news? Why or why not? What hazards are there for
professional journalists who also publish their own blog?

Innovations in journalism have made Web writing the “next big thing,”
but what do you think? In a short paper, outline your thoughts on the
transition from print and broadcast as official news sources to the ways
in which the Web has gained credibility. Talk about how the Web has
altered the way in which journalists look at their jobs. Is it realistic to
expect writers to work in more than one form of media? Do you think
a multimedia presentation enhances a story or distracts from the facts?
Are you excited by the prospect of multimedia reporting, or frightened
                      by it? 79
