2. The well outflow configuration. This affects how the
hydrocarbons flow from the bottom of the well to the surface.
This will dictate the size and type of tubing used, as well as
accessories run as part of the tubing string (such as downhole
valves or pumps).
Sand control measures may be needed if the well would produce sand
along with the oil or gas. One method of keeping the sand down hole is to
use a screen, such as the one shown in figure 4–3.
