          Improved paint adhesion on an acetal homopolymer substrate is sup-
        plied by DuPont Engineering Polymers. The substrate is composed of

        90 to 99.5% Delrin and 0.5 to 10% of another semicrystalline or amor-
        phous thermoplastic. Typically, polyacetal does not readily adhere to
        other plastics. The painted polyacetal composition has good physical
        and mechanical property retention according to the company. In 2003

        the company introduced DuPont     Delrin Decorating Solutions for
        painted and metallized (electroplated) homopolymers which consist of

        Delrin ES Etching Solution, coatings, and application technology.
              ®
        Delrin ES technology prepares the molded product surface for coating
        or metallizing. Shipley Company, a subsidiary of Rohm and Haas

        Company, has licensed the manufacturing process for Delrin Etch
        etching solution from DuPont [8]. The DuPont painting and plating
