Creating Your Career Fingerprint
answers to the prompts were very easy for you, you may skip to the
next chapter if you wish.
To start pinpointing your authentic calling, go through the fol-
lowing categories of talents as if you had no limitations, and see if
any of them might include something that appeals to you. You may
relate to many, one, or none of these gifts. It really doesn’t matter.
In the long run, all you need is one. By the end of this section you will
have identified the one(s) most important to you.
If for some reason the specific talent that you
believe you have is not on this list, then by all
means write down your own version of your
natural ability in your own words.
❑ Are you good at making people feel genuinely important?
Do you have a natural talent for listening so intently that you are
able to block out all external stimuli just to focus on whomever you’re
talking to? Can you give sincere compliments and uplifting comments
to people that help them feel important and understood? Do you make
it a habit to see and bring out the best in people? Do people tend to
naturally trust you?
A few careers associated with this talent could be
• Astrologer • Medical doctor
• Customer service representative • Psychotherapist
• Drug and alcohol counselor • Real estate agent
• Human resources director • Registered nurse
• Life coach
❑ Are you good at assisting people in healing or personal
growth?
Do you seem to naturally feel empathy and compassion for people? Do
you gravitate toward those whom you can help? Do you feel delight when
people feel better or improve their performance as a result of interacting
with you? Do you thrive on inspiring and motivating others?
