at the bottom of the adsorption vessel. The masses and volumes of several
parts of the suspension are indicated by permanent magnet,
suspension rod, sorbent basket; sorbent and
sorbate. Also is the gravity of earth at laboratory’s place and
is the density of the adsorptive gas.

In order to determine from eq. (3.26) the mass adsorbed three
additional measurements have to be performed:

          (1) Calibration measurement of the empty suspension in
vacuum Then (3.26) reduces to the relation

          (2) Measurement of the empty suspension in the sorptive gas
                atmosphere

          (3) Measurement of the loaded suspension in vacuum. As
                      we have from (3.26)
