CHAPTER 5

                     Strategic Education

                         What Is Strategic Education?

In the previous chapter, we examined, firsthand, the tremendous
benefits career changers receive from utilizing strategic education.
Once again, strategic education means enrolling in a certificate or
college degree program without necessarily having the intention to
            finish that program.

Of course, you might want to finish the
whole program, but strategic education means
that by simply being enrolled in the program and
taking one or two classes, the employer
will perceive you as already having a
                                certificate or a degree.

This strategy has worked time and again for thousands of peo-
ple. The reason it is so effective for career changers is that it focuses
on your future—the intent of where you’re going—rather than your
past. When the employer perceives where you are going, he or she
sees several positive qualities in you.
