Some of the most important decisions that you will make during your
first year will be in selecting your leadership team. You then need to
decide how to build teamwork, making sure your team and organiza-
tion are effectively trained and developed. You will need to accomplish
the following:
■ Skillfully use a selection process and make good choices in estab-
lishing your work team.
■ Make careful, sensitive, and sometimes difficult decisions about
people in order to continuously raise the bar on your leadership
and professional talent.
