Here are some questions that you can use during meetings with your new
stakeholders that will help you build your relationship with them:

1. What do you see as your most critical business goals and issues over the
next one to two years?
2. Are there any organizational impediments to your achieving the results
you intend?
3. How can I (or my function) help you achieve your goals?
4. In what ways have our departments (or functions) cooperated success-
fully in the past? Should we continue these behaviors?
5. In what ways have our departments (or functions) worked to each
other’s disadvantage in the past? What can we do differently that would
be more effective?
6. What service gaps or concerns have you experienced from our depart-
ment (or function)? How can we better support your business?
