Motor Step 6

Using the vertical beam to lock
the 1x4 and 1x8 horizontal
beams together is called cross
bracing. Cross bracing makes
this assembly very strong.
The height of the 1x4 beam
(1.2 studs) and two plates (0.4
studs multiplied by two)
places the pins two
studs apart; this is
just the right spacing
to have them line up
with holes in the vertical beam.
Knowing how to use
combinations of plates and beams to
make the holes in horizontal and vertical
beams line up is an important LEGO building skill.
Remember you will need to build two of these.

The Right Wheel

Now it’s time to add the wheel and gearing to the motor mount.
