Yong Bai

Dr. Yong Bai has pre University LO ’ ge
where he was professor of offshore structures. He has also worked with
classification societies and was engaged in the development of ultimate

strength and fatigue criteria for marine structural design. Through
working at design/consulting offices, Dr. Bai has applied his structural
engineering expertise to practical design. He actively conducts research on
application of structural reliability and risk assessmei-_.

“Marine Structural Design” has been written based on his teaching,
research and engineering experience and used as a text for graduate
courses and industry training courses.

Dr. Bai has a B.Sc degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering,
a M.Sc degree and a Ph.D. degree in Marine Structural Engineering. He is
the author of a book entitled “Pipelines and Risers” which is Volume 3 of
the Elsevier Ocean Engineering Book Series.
