                                                   Rivets
                                                   Rivets are used to make permanent joints between two
                                                   or more plates. Steel rivets may be closed  when red

                                                   copper may  be closed  cold. There are  a number of
                                                   types of riveted joint configurations for plates, two of
                                                   which are shown in the figure.
