WALDO’S WINGTIP
Keeping Sight of Your Goals
When the “missiles” of the business world come at you, you
may get stressed, anxious, and fearful. This is normal.
Nobody ever wants to fail or see their dreams shot down.
Under these conditions, it’s easy to get disheartened and
unmotivated. When this happens, don’t pull back the throt-
tle of your commitment. Resist the sometimes subtle urge
to pull back! In tough times (like combat), it’s even more
critical that you push it up and remember what—and who—
you are fighting for. You have to refocus on what your goals
are. To keep your goals at the forefront, write them out and
keep them visible. Make them as specific as you can, and
read them out loud every day. Put photos of those you love
and of your passions next to the goals. If you lose sight of
the goals—and, more important, if you lose sight of what
gives meaning to your mission—you will lose the fight.
Keeping sight of your goals will give you the courage and the
strength of will to stay committed until you succeed.
