152 | NEVER FLY SOLO
I challenge you to examine your life for the places you’ve
been neglecting yourself, and when you find them, take the
time to serve yourself and refuel. Give yourself a break. Learn
to say no; then take that day off and relax by the pool, take
a hike in the woods, or curl up with a book. Take the time to
be generous with yourself as well as others. In the end, you’ll
find yourself more fulfilled and at peace in your own life, and
that will give you the added thrust to help others on their
flight path.
WALDO’S WINGTIP
Serve More with Less
In these economically trying times, we hear a lot about the
need to “do more with less.” Good advice, but why not up
the ante and give more with less? Serve at a soup kitchen,
visit a local hospital, mentor a teenager with no parents,
donate to a local charity, or help out a veteran with a broken
wing. When you see someone who is struggling and losing
altitude, don’t turn a blind eye and lose sight of what really
matters in life. Use your wings to give them a lift and even
a push if necessary. Sometimes all a flyer needs to stay
airborne is just a little bit of encouragement and support.
Let them know you’ve got their back and won’t let them
crash. Be the wind beneath their wings. Giving is winning.
