Fig. 47 presents a block of honeycomb packing pressed of
polypropylene, investigated in [60, 61].
A honeycomb packing can also be assembled of thermo-pressed plates,
as presented in Fig. 48. Using plates of sintered plastics, for example sintered
PVC, it is possible to obtain a packing able to operate at very low liquid
superficial velocity with practically fully wetted packing surface area [62-64,
145-147].
