INCREASING MATURITY.->
Maturity may increase by more tectonic stability, which in turn
means lowered physiographic relief, decreased rate of subsidence,
decreased rate of deposition and consequent increase of time avail-
able for chemical weathering (if any) and abrasion. Maturity is
also increased by any of the above factors operating independently,
or by a change in environment. It also increases with distance from
source.
