Preface
The chapters in the volume arose from a research symposium held at
Deh*ay Beach in May 1992 under the auspices of the Center for
Advanced Research in Phenomenology and Florida Atlantic University.
Don Dide's article "Technology and Cultural Revenge/' was previously
published as "La technologia e la vendetta della culturea," Paradigmi:
Rivista di critica filosofia 10.30 (1992) and is pubUshed here in English for
the first time. The editors thank the contributors for their original essays,
their spirited participation and discussion during the symposium, and their
prompt cooperation in the preparation of the manuscript for pubhcation.
