PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
• Investigation, diagnosis, and management of all varieties of clinical nephrology
problems.
• Hemodialysis (insertion of subclavian, jugular, femoral lines; creation of Scribner
shunts; monitoring; and follow-up of patients on acute and chronic peritoneal
dialysis).
• Peritoneal dialysis (insertion of acute peritoneal dialysis, monitoring, and follow-
up of patients on acute and chronic peritoneal dialysis).
• Renal biopsies (300 adult biopsies, 75 transplant biopsies, and 30 pediatric
biopsies).
• Live donor kidney perfusion (150 kidney perfusions).
• Renal transplant recipient monitoring and post-transplant follow-up, including
evaluation of complications and management of rejection episodes
(approximately 300 renal transplants).
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
• Theory classes in Internal Medicine and Nephrology for undergraduate students.
• Bedside clinical teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students in
Internal Medicine.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE
I am interested in transplant immunology research and have completed one year
of bench research studying the significance of anti-HLA Class I antibodies in
renal transplant recipients and their role in the causation of rejection episodes.
This work was supported by a grant from the Alberta Heritage Fund and was
presented at the American Transplant Society annual meeting in 2004 and the
American Society of Nephrology meeting in 2005.
