146 CHAPTER 6 ■ Increasing School Meal Uptake in a Deprived Region in England

                             • Dinner nannies’ satisfaction with their work, their knowledge of nutritional
guidelines, their belief in the importance of providing children with a
balanced diet, and their self-reported confidence at managing the dining
room (including speaking to children, organizing queues, etc.).
                             • The number of head teachers who downloaded the newsletter and the
number who meet with their catering manager.
These other measures will be evaluated in Autumn 2009.
Due to financial difficulties, the one-choice menu, although implemented in
some schools, was not evaluated. The training for dinner nannies has also been de-
layed, and will now be piloted in Autumn 2009.

                          2. What interventions would you develop for the too busy and engaged and
                             passionate head teachers?
                          3. How important is stakeholder engagement in the development of a project
such as the one described in this chapter? What objectives might the different
stakeholders have, and how might they conflict?
