esplanadeFextension#). The Esplanade was designed to facilitate bicycle
access by tying into the Portage Bike and Hike Trail a 10-mile route from the
City of Ravenna to Kent, with an offshoot that goes directly through the KSU
campus.

Entrance to Acorn Alley
Acorn Alley I and II, pedestrian-friendly multiuse downtown developments
with shopping, entertainment, dining, and loft housing, is located in the block
next to the PARTA multimodal facility and KSU Conference Center. A local
developer/investor rehabbed and reused existing historic buildings for Acorn I
and II, in keeping with the community’s vision. The existing alleys and wide
spaces between buildings were improved for small shops and places to sit
and enjoy live music. The same investor substantially rehabbed the historic
