cal testing, and automated analysis of software behavior. He has managed both commercial and
academic software development projects, and consulted on the design, development, and testing
of applications ranging from consumer electronics to medical scanners, from small embedded
real-time systems to very large distributed applications. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science
from the University of Tennessee, and is a member of the ACM, IEEE, and Sigma Xi.

Keng Siau is the E.J. Faulkner Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) at the Uni-
versity of Nebraska, Lincoln (UNL). He is the director of the UNL-IBM Global Innovation Hub,
editor-in-chief of the Journal of Database Management, and co-editor-in-chief of the Advances in
Database Research series. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia
(UBC), where he majored in management information systems and minored in cognitive psy-
chology. His Master’s and Bachelor degrees are in computer and information sciences from the
National University of Singapore. He has over 200 academic publications. His research has been
funded by NSF, IBM, and other IT organizations. He has received numerous research, teaching,
and service awards. His latest award is the International Federation for Information Processing
(IFIP) Outstanding Service Award in 2006. He served as the organizing and program chairs of
the International Workshop on Evaluation of Modeling Methods in Systems Analysis and Design
(EMMSAD) (1996–2005). He now serves on the EMMSAD Steering Committee and SIGSAND
Advisory Board. He also served on the organizing committees of AMCIS 2005, ER 2006, and
                    AMCIS 2007.

David Talby has recently become a senior manager of software development at Amazon.com,
after a long period of work in software development and management in the Israeli Air Force. He
is also a lecturer and doctoral student of computer science at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem.
His research interests are in software engineering, focusing on agile methods and large-scale en-
terprise software development, as well as parallel computer scheduling and workload modeling.
He received his M.Sc. in computer science and MBA in business administration from Hebrew
                    University.

Gwendolyn Walton is a faculty member in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department at
Florida Southern College. Her research interests include theoretical foundations for computation of
nonfunctional software attributes, and rigorous methods for specification and evaluation of large-
scale software systems. Previously she held positions as a senior software engineering researcher
in the CERT Program of the Software Engineering Institute, president of Software Engineering
Technology Inc., assistant vice president for Science Applications International Corporation, senior
data systems programmer for Lockheed Missiles and Space Company, and research associate for
Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She received her Ph.D. in computer science from the University
of Tennessee. She is a member of ACM, IEEE, and the Society of Women Engineers.
