It follows that the use of GC/MS has become a popular analytical procedure in forensic chemistry,
toxicology and environmental studies. GC/MS has been employed for over thirty years in general
analytical chemistry, and there is a plethora of applications in the literature that demonstrates the
efficacy of the technique and its wide area or application. The following are a number of applications,
taken from recent publications, that demonstrate some of the more recent uses of the technique.
Determination of Trace Concentrations of the 2,3,7,8-Chlorine-Substituted Dibenzo-p-Dioxins
and Furans in Beef Fat
Recently a GC/MS system has been employed by Ferrario et al. [7] to determine the level of 2,3,7,8-
chlorine substituted dibenzo-p-dioxins and furans in beef. The technique allowed the dioxins to be
