Idea Exchange
onduct a creative idea exchange with peers in your area. If you have a local
Cchapter of The American Society for Training & Development this is a great
resource for networking and exchanging ideas (see Resources for Trainers in the
appendices for ASTD information). Either meet with, mail, or e-mail a questionnaire,
or make telephone calls to trainers you know. Elicit ideas that they have used for
creatively selecting leaders and scribes in their training sessions.
As with any other aspect of training, you probably also have many ideas or
techniques that you have developed, seen, or heard about to make small groups
more effective. Take the time to catalog all of these, then compile them into a list
with the ideas you gather from others. Share the list with everyone who participated
in your idea exchange.
