           ◆    Know that to get things done, they have to command any stage
              or conference room, and persuade any audience to enlist wide
              collaboration and support.
           ◆    Understand and identify with the needs of their employees,
              customers, managements, partners, and investors. In other
              words, like President Obama, they speak in the language of we.
           ◆    Recognize that the answer to transformation and success
              depends not just on technology or even innovation, but ulti-
              mately in themselves.

           ◆    Seek every opportunity to get out of the office and down on

              the floor, or up on the stage, or into the interview, or on the
              industry conference panel to enlist as many confederates as

              possible. The wider the net, the greater the influence, and the
              greater the opportunity.
