Adding Output Devices to the PPRK
We’ve finished the first step. We know how to attach sensors to the PPRK and
read the data from those sensors. Now we need to look at attaching output
devices other than servos to the controller and using those other devices.

Adding Output Devices to the Pontech SV203

The SV203 has eight output ports that can be used. The output ports are
located on the SV203 in the block of pins labeled J4. The pins are numbered
from S1 to S8, starting at the bottom of the block of pins.

Unfortunately, three of the output ports are used by the IR rangers of the
PPRK. With the PPRK we built in this book, the power and ground lines for
the rangers were attached to the pins in the output block of ports. Those were
the pins labeled S6, S7, and S8 in the block of pins labeled J4 on the SV203.
Thus, assuming that you are going to keep the servos attached to S1, S2, and
S3, only two output ports are available for attaching additional devices.
