ator. (Many fluid bed incinerator facilities in England and Europe have waste heat
boilers that necessitate use of an induced draft fan.) Another disadvantage of the Ven-
turi scrubber is erosion of throat section and Venturi damper from high-velocity par-
ticles. Most newer Venturi scrubbers have throat sections lined with silicon carbide
tiles to mitigate the erosive effect of particulate matter.
