Creating a solid departmental
foundation is a good start toward fulfi lling your responsibilities
as a professional manager. But it is only a start. Now that you
have learned how to lay the groundwork for a positive, productive
department consisting of staff members who are engaged, eager
to take risks, and work well together, you need to learn how to
successfully build on that foundation.
