iscursive Analysis

The notion of discourse binds all these concepts into a neat package.
A discourse consists of culturally or socially produced groups of ideas
containing texts (which contain signs and codes) and representations
(which describe power in relation to Others). As a way of thinking, a
discourse often represents a structure of knowledge and power. A
discursive analysis exposes these structures and locates the
discourse within wider historical, cultural and social relations.
