Be a Continuous Learner
One hallmark of great leaders is their capacity to learn
continuously throughout their lives. You’ve probably heard
the quote: “If you have never failed, you have never learned,
and you cannot lead.” While formal education is very
important, I’m talking about the kind of learning that
becomes your life journey. It involves being curious and
wanting to learn more about something—a compulsion to
know as much or even more about a subject than others
do—and learning from both your successes and your fail-
ures. It takes courage because you have to be able to face
new and challenging situations and often operate in unfor-
