contract agreements, and all other forms required by the CSI. All CSI application and
reservation forms are available at www.gosolarcalifornia.ca.gov/csi/index.html.
The principal objective of the CSI is to ensure that 3000 MW of new solar energy
facilities are installed throughout California by 2017.
CSI Fund Distribution
The CSI fund distribution administered by the three agencies has a specific budget
allotment that is proportioned according to the demographics of power demand and
distribution. CSI budget allotment values are shown in Table 4.1.
The CSI budget shown in the table is divided into two customer segments, namely,
residential and nonresidential. Table 4.2 shows relative allocations of CSI solar power
generation by customer sector.
The CSI budget also has $216 million allocated to affordable or low-income
housing projects.
CSI Power-Generation Targets
To offset the high costs associated with solar power installation and to promote PV
industry development, the CSI has devised a plan that encourages customer sectors to
take immediate advantage of rebate initiatives, which are intended to last for a limited
duration of 10 years. The incentive program is currently designed to be reduced
