This is an example of a rotation about the y axis of the region bounded by y = f(x), y = 0, x = a, x = b. Notice
that the axis of the cylinder is the axis which the curve is rotated around.
Example 11—
Let us try to do the same region R we had before and rotate it about the y axis. We take the same region for two
reasons: (1) you do not have to worry about different curves, and (2) we would like to show that the answers are
the same.
