About the Editors
Dr. Benedetta Brevini is a journalist, media activist and Senior Lecturer at
the University of Sydney. Before joining academia she worked as journalist
in Milan, New York and London for CNBC and RAI. She writes on The
Guardian’s Comment is Free and contributes to a number of print and
web publications including the Conversation, Opendemocracy, Index of
Censorship and Red Pepper Magazine. She is the author of Public Service
Broadcasting online (2013) and editor of the acclaimed volume Beyond
Wikileaks (2013).
Prof. Graham Murdock is Professor of Culture and Economy at
Loughborough University and Vice President of the International Associ-
ation of Media and Communication Research. He has been translated into
twenty one languages and has held Visiting Professor and Fellow positions in
Australia, Belgium, China, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden. His recent
publications include; Money Talks: Media, Markets, Crisis with Jostein
Gripsrud (2015); The Handbook of Political Economy of Communications
with Janet Wasko and Helena Sousa (2011); and Digital Dynamics:
Engagement and Disconnections with Peter Golding (2010).
