                         FIBER-OPTIC CABLE
                            A fiber-optic cable is a bundle of transparent, solid strands designed to carry
                            modulated light or infrared (IR). This type of cable can carry millions of
                            signals at high bandwidth.
                            Manufacture
                            Optical fibers are made from glass to which impurities have been added
                            to maximize the transparency at certain wavelengths. The impurities also
                            optimize the refractive index of the glass, or the extent to which it slows
