SOME FINAL CORE CONCEPTS
Lastly, there are a few more concepts that need to be understood in regard to data governance. These
are important to cover now because:
• Data governance programs often do not get started smoothly.
• They are often perceived as expensive.
• They are often scoped incorrectly.
• They contain changes to organizations that are often overlooked until it is too late.
We will go into deeper detail on each one of these but, again, it is good to be aware of them as you
proceed.
