Improving Group

roblem solving and decision making are the reasons most secondary groups exist.
PBecause problems solved by groups affect us all, we need to understand how to make
the problem- solving and decision- making processes in groups the best they can be. Part IV
focuses on the processes that help this occur. Like Chapters 7 and 8, Chapters 9 and 10 are
companion chapters, with Chapter 9 presenting theoretical information about problem-
solving and decision- making processes and Chapter 10 providing practical suggestions and
techniques for effective problem solving. Chapter 11 describes how group members can
make conflict work for them rather than against them.
