Plane handle
The plane handle in Fig. 2.9 is another problem involving establishing the position of arc
centres and tangency points. Start by inserting construction lines to locate the centres of
the two R18 arcs. Clean up unwanted lines after positioning tangency points and modify
the outline into polylines.
Earthenware vase
The dimensions of a vase are given in Fig. 2.10. Copy the profile and add the dimensions.
Start by drawing the R50 radius and construct the intersecting arcs to locate the centres
for the other two radii.
Dipstick
Figure 2.11 shows a dipstick which is used to indicate the depth of oil in an engine. The
stick is calibrated with five equal divisions between points A and B and you will note from
