40  Animals  and  insects



                    are  dogs  and  cats,  but  children  in  particular
                    Pets  and  farm  animals
                    Many  people  keep  pets  (=  domestic  animals
                    that  live  with  people)  in  Britain.  The  most  common

                    sometimes  keep  mice  (singular  =  a  mouse)        rabbit
                    and  rabbits.





                    Farm  animals  include:  sheep,  pigs,  cows,  horses,
                    chickens  and  goats.




                    Note:  The  word  ‘sheep’  is  the  singular  and  plural  form  i.e.  a  sheep  or  some  sheep.  A  young
                    sheep  is  called  a  lamb.

                    Wild  animals
                    In  a  zoo  or  in  the  wild,  you  will  find  these  wild  animals.
