If you want to substitute values for two different arguments
in a formula, you can create a two-input data table. In a
two-input data table, you specify the first set of
substitution values in the column under the formula cell
and the second set of substitution values in the row to the
right of the formula. For example, if you want to see how
both different interest rates and loan terms affect your
payments, you specify the interest rates in the column
under the formula and the loan term values in the row next
to the formula.
When you create a two-input data table, your formula must
initially reference cells outside the data table. This means if
your data table contains interest rates in a column, the
formula must initially reference a cell outside of the
column containing an interest rate value. In the Table
dialog box, you specify both the row and column initial
input cells.
