            Dynamical Properties
            As mentioned in Section 7.4.1, a CTD fitted with sampling bottles can be used
            to collect water samples from a fixed point in the water column (e.g. near the
            surface or sea bed) for subsequent analysis. This analysis could be relatively
            routine, and possibly performed on the vessel to reduce the need for transporting
            large volumes of sea water to a laboratory for postprocessing. These activities
            include filtering for SPM or chlorophyll. However, sometimes more intensive
            and laborious postprocessing is required, and under such circumstances, only
            a limited amount of processing on the ship may be required. A good example
            of this category is filtering sea water for plankton that has been collected using
            a plankton net. Three commonly used types of plankton net are a ring net, a
