          The additional moment of inertia   is made up of three parts:

                 the moment of inertia  of  the mass adsorbed
                 the moment  of inertia  of  the  mass  of  gas  in  the  free space
                 between the sorbent pellets in the ring slit,
                 and the moment of inertia    of the mass     of a boundary layer
                 of the fluid’s flow above and below the oscillating disk, cp. Fig. 5.4.


             We now assume  the masses       and    moving  with the  disk to  be
          homogenously  distributed within  the  ring slit. Then  we  have for   and
