Monitoring and Scheduling Activity. During project execution, the project manager
and team members will need to get together occasionally to discuss the work items, prob-
lems, issues, and new actions related to the project. In the project center, an activity
scheduler can be used to schedule meetings, working sessions, reviews, and milestone
releases through the tools used in the project workplace. In general, the activity scheduler
should be able to schedule the requests and send out invitations with agendas and supple-
mental information to the members. An activity may be conducted offline, online, or in
real time depending on the nature of the needs. The meeting minutes and action results
will be recorded in text, audio, or video format in the project workplace, and the relevant
project members will be notified after the activities for further reference. All the problem
reports, change requests, or work requests resulting from the activity scheduler will be
tracked and monitored under the project control function in the project center.
Controlling and Tracking Progress. Project control consists of four major types of
activities: (1) detecting work results, (2) reporting problems, (3) requesting changes,
