Based on organic unsaturated polyester dissolved in unsaturated monomer; cured by free radical reaction catalyzed
Resin is dispersed in water to form water emulsion; acrylic is major resin type; one-component materials; cure by
solvent evaporation followed by coalescence of the resin particle; used as protective and architectural coatings in
wood or concrete where moisture must be allowed to pass through the coating; cannot be used on steel without
the form of primers, intermediate coats, and topcoats; high moisture vapor transmission rates; good to protect
by peroxide; used mainly for lining due to their good acid and chemical resistance.
