Flat-plate collectors find their widest use for building heating, domestic
water heating, and similar applications. Since space heating and cooling are
the objective of the system being considered here, a flat-plate collector
system will be a tentative choice until it is proved suitable or unsuitable for
the system. Figure 4 shows the construction details of typical flat-plate
collectors.
