         of telecom is shown in Fig. 11.5. The proposed different hybrid combinations for this
         study are shown in Fig. 11.6 The average fuel price of diesel since 2010 is shown in
         Table 11.2.
           The HOMER software is used for simulation using telecom load. The details of HS
         used in the simulation are shown in Table 11.3.

         2.4  Solar radiation and wind speed

         The monthly average SR and WS data for Darbangha city of Bihar in India are taken
         from National Aeronautics and Space Administration database [45] (Table 11.4).

         The SR varies from 4.02 to 7.07 kWh/m /day and WS varies from 2.1 to 3.2 m/s for
         Darbangha.


         3  Results and discussions

         The simulation is performed using HOMER Pro software. It is found that Darbhanga
         rural area of Bihar State in India blessed with considerable annual average global

         SR (5.279 kWh/m /day) with maximum, minimum value as 7.07, 4.02 kWh/m /day
         and average WS (2.60 m/s). The COE and total power generation for different HSs
         for telecommunication application is shown in Table 11.5. It is found that PV–wind–
         diesel–battery has minimum COE (Fig. 11.7) and PV–diesel has maximum COE with
         maximum power production (Fig. 11.8).
