20 Burns
20.1 Description
When gases are trapped during the filling of a mold, the high pressures may cause
ignition to occur causing the plastic to burn. This defect will often show up as black
smutty deposits on the part and the mold surface. See Figure 20.1 for an example
of a burn defect.
