44 Stringers
44.1 Description
A stringer is a drawn-out filament of plastic that usually originates at a nozzle tip
or a hot tip in a mold. Molten plastic will stretch out into a long filament when the
mold opens. See Figure 44.1 for a typical example of a stringer on a sprue.
