Minerals
Minerals, or trace elements, are essential in the body and seven minerals such as calcium, magnesium,
sodium, potassium, phosphorus, sulfur and chlorine consist of 60-80% of the total minerals. Iron,
copper, fluorine, iodine, manganese, cobalt, zinc and molybdenum are also needed.
Molybdenum is required to activate such specific enzymes as the flavoprotein enzyme which catalyses
aldehyde oxidase and xanthine oxidase. Good sources are bovine kidney, some cereals and beans. The
